Job description

The AI team’s mission is to dramatically improve our customers’ experience by automating product-related tasks, such as categorizing products in a pre-defined taxonomy and extracting attributes from the product description.

Our AI team members are set to become rockstars in their field. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and to collaborate with domain experts, absorbing knowledge from the bests while contributing your own expertise.

Your role:

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will work closely with Max (Head of AI), Théo (Senior Machine Learning Engineer) and Akeneo’s product teams. You will have a key role in developing ML algorithms for various modules on our platform. Specifically, you will:

• Train, deploy and monitor ML models.
• Lead ML support for our customers, explaining model predictions, addressing model-related issues and building tools to automate this process.
• Stay up to date with cutting-edge advancements in Machine Learning, focusing on transformer architectures, LLMs, zero shot classification etc.
• Pitch, experiment and adapt new methods to our use cases.
• Oversee ML projects end-to-end: problem formulation, metric determination, data collation, model training, deployment, and production monitoring.
• Contribute to and maintain internal ML libraries, respecting coding best practices, such as peer-review and automated testing.
• Collaborate with other members of the team, and other teams at Akeneo (e.g. Product teams).

Your profile:

You are the perfect fit for the job if:

• You hold a Masters or a Ph.D. in machine learning, AI, computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, data science, or related technical fields.
• You have at least 3 years of experience (excluding internships) in machine learning, in particular you have manipulated several deep learning methods.
• You brought several deep learning models to production, and built mechanisms to monitor them.
• You have a strong experience with python and software engineering best practices.
• You have experience with Pytorch or another major deep learning framework.
• You have experience deploying your code using docker.
• You are ready to handle projects which have a significant impact in the success of Akeneo.

• Bonus: You have a strong background in transformers based architectures.
