The Product Department at Akeneo 🧑🔬
We're a software company, and therefore we strive for innovation! The Product department gathers +150 talented people working daily on making Akeneo a top-of-the-line SaaS Enterprise Suite. The department's mission is to create long-lasting value for our users, customers, and Akeneo.
Organisation 🏰
The product department gathers four different fields:
- Product Management solves customer and business problems by developing practical solutions that are valuable, viable, usable, and feasible.
- Product Design contributes to defining Akeneo’s vision and designing seamless end-to-end experiences that drive value for the business using human-centred practices.
- Support takes pride in going the extra mile to deliver the best customer experience by providing our clients with high-standard quality service!
- Engineering is at the heart of building and maintaining Akeneo's solutions in a culture of innovation.
Akeneo’s Product department exists to design, build, and maintain a SaaS platform that delivers impactful product experiences. We want to succeed by creating a culture of innovation, embracing and sharing our strengths, and delivering consistently, reliably, and predictably.

The way we work 🤝
Just because we know how to cook a meal well doesn't mean we know how to run a restaurant. If we leave our work surface dirty or unclean, we will be slowed down daily to cook. If we care about our work surface, we will move faster, easier, and even more.
We see the Akeneo platform, our codebase, and our products as a restaurant to manage with the same sense of ownership, accountability, autonomy, and reliability.
- We value high collaboration between squads, teams, and skill sets.
- We value lean design and an iterative approach to craft elegant and valuable solutions on time.
- We value continuous improvement and learning. We use Agile methodologies and OKRs for planning and measurement, DDD to design our software and Team Topologies for the organization.

Career path 🧭
This Akeneo career path is not a promotion checklist for a role, and we don’t believe in the illusion of automatic growth. We value contributions over credentials. The greater your impact, the greater your responsibilities. At Akeneo, we think cross-functional teams, or squads as we call them, are the engine of business value within the organization. We mean a team to be a stable grouping of fewer than eight people who work toward a shared goal as a unit. Our career path is based on the notion that not all technical engineers want to move to management roles, but most like to have the same level of impact in the department.

Wanna join the team? 💫
If you're interested in one of our openings, here is what the hiring process looks like for Engineering roles:
- Interview with Talent Acquisition: a 30-minute conversation with one of our Talent Acquisition Specialists, where you’ll learn more about the role, Akeneo, and briefly go through your experience and expectations.
- Interview with Engineering Manager: meet your future manager and get more information about the role and the engineering culture at Akeneo. The manager will also evaluate your hard/soft skills by allowing you to highlight the projects you worked on.
- Technical interview: This is not a typical technical interview. You will not have to use a whiteboard or be given a test at home. We want to reach the limits of your hard skills with a series of open questions. During the interviews, we will evaluate some criteria: technical skills, development practices, code & architecture design, capacity to pinpoint an issue at hand, sense of logic, and learning abilities.
- Team interview: meet your future colleagues! A less formal interview where the idea is for you to get to know the people you’ll be working with (aka your future squad) and see if you all want to work together!
