Job description
The Solution Engineer, presales consultant, works to win deals in the Americas region and to contribute to the ongoing growth and improvement of our presales practice at Akeneo. This role is supported by the Americas Head of Solution Engineering.
You’ll work with the Sales team on qualified sales opportunities to turn them into customers. This includes defining the best approach together with the sales team, demonstrating Akeneo’s value and consultative selling using product demos, running prospect workshops, providing technical insights, and leveraging our tech partners' ecosystem’s joint value.
More precisely, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Develop and maintain expertise in product experience management (PXM), product information management (PIM), and other Akeneo solutions for syndication and supplier data onboarding.
- Conduct discovery sessions together with sales in order to build relationships with the customer by understanding their unique issues and impact while guiding them towards the solution that works best for them.
- Create and deliver solution recommendations, value-based demonstrations, with technical and business discussions in a credible and compelling manner to position yourself as a trusted advisor.
- Thrive in a client-facing environment and find simple solutions to complex problems.
- Actively support the selling efforts of the Account Executives (sales), from qualification and discovery to execution, including deal close and transition to services teams.
- Collaborate with the product team to provide feedback on new features and functionality requirements.
- Support other typical presales tasks such as collaborating with Technology and System Integrator partners, representing Akeneo at trade shows, and managing RFI and RFP responses.
Qualifications
- Your proven analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to develop the best fit solution.
- You have experience in presales, technical sales in a B2B SaaS or IT services company. Ideally, in the world of e-commerce, content management or master data management.
- You possess some knowledge of project management, software development or modern application architecture.

Interview process
- Say hi! If your application has caught our attention, you will receive an invitation to a 30-minute conversation with one of our Talent Partners, where you’ll learn more about the role and about Akeneo.
- Meet your future manager! This 45-60 minute interview will allow you to go in more depth into what the role entails and discuss your experience and skills.
- Meet the VP of Sales! In this 30-minute call, the VP of Sales will dig deeper into your experience working with a Sales team and will give you more information about the dynamic between sales and solution engineering.
- Briefing: A future peer will brief you on the next step, the presentation. This will require preparation work, we only ask you for this if you’re one of the top couple of candidates.
- Present! Run an example presentation session to show your skills in this important part of the PreSales role and share how you would prepare for the next step demo.
